The Future of Reading Rooms

Recently I've attended one Asia Pacific Business School Librariens Conference, in which software for searching multiple databases was discussed. Meanwhile, librariens who had come for the conference were discussing about whether to keep the reading rooms in their libraries or not? many of them shared their own experiences regarding the reading room facility. In spite of having good facility in their houses students would love to come to the library, reasons are many; The physical touch, a competetive atmosphere, etc. In my opinion reading rooms would continue their service to the patrons.
